Coloring Books

So I was thinking about this concept for sometime. While I was working the other day, there was a child who is coloring in a coloring book. While he was coloring he was trying to rush, Stribling frantically back-and-forth as well in a circular motion. He looked up at me and I said, "hello little man why dont you slow down a little bit?" He says to me "you want to help me?" and I said "yeah I'll help you". I then grabbed some crayons and started coloring and said "hey I'll help you color, but I'm not going to color it for you. I explained to him I'll try to color all in the same direction make everything look for congruent. Well he says "why would I do that" I said "because there's no need to rush. The point of coloring a coloring book is to do just that, color. Don't be in a hurry to get done when you should take your time because it's coloring that is the joy. So enjoy coloring, it doesn't matter if it takes three days to color that page and it doesn't matter if it takes three years to color that picture as long as the picture it's colored the very best that you can do it. It's the process of coloring itself is the point so enjoy the process. What I took from that was quite amazing, that I found myself with tasks that I rush through as well not enjoying the thing that gets us to the end product but just excited for the end product. So after my coloring experience I love so many different aspects of my life but primarily art. Instead of not liking to do the little tedious tasks like masking off an area for wet sanding or even a rough draft, with each step of the process. I take my time to trace and outline. I try to color all of the same directions to make my life congruent. Now creating is a not so focus on the end result, but it's enjoying the process of creating itself. All of the process leads to a better product; which leads to the best product that I can I can make. It's the little things that end up making the final outcome great.
